Dune: Awakening: AQL Altars - Environment Art

I had the pleasure of working on the Dune Awakening game for the past four years as a Senior Environment Artist.
My responsibilities included working directly in Unreal Engine to ensure that the level environments met both visual and performance requirements, while also collaborating and communicating closely with various departments throughout development. This level is, of course, the result of a team effort involving many talented individuals. I worked closely with multiple teams that did an excellent job, including the Level Design, Lighting and Material teams, 3D Art, Concept Art, and VFX teams, to name a few.

• These Aql Altars were an especially interesting task, as I proposed the initial workflow and setup in Unreal Engine which later allowed them to be used across multiple scenarios on the world map. This solution proved both time-efficient and visually impactful. In addition to that, I was responsible for the initial environment exploration and room designs, and handled the full environment pipeline, from visual development to final optimization.

A special shout-out to my talented colleagues Fabio Goncalves, who worked on the concept art for the murals and Gil Monteiro who created 3D assets for them.
